Lyblac

Lyblac

Terms of Use

Effective 7 October 2026

1. Agreement

These terms are an agreement between you and Benjamin McGill ("we", "us") for your use of the Lyblac app. They take effect on 7 October 2026. By using the app you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use the app.

You must be at least 16 years old to use Lyblac.

2. No account; your book stays on your phone

Lyblac has no accounts and no sign-in. Your cabinet, your journal and the workings you write are kept on your phone only. We never receive them and cannot restore them.

If you erase them in the app (Settings, then Erase everything on this phone), remove the app, or lose the phone without a backup, they are gone. Erasing your book does not cancel a subscription: see section 3.

3. Subscription and billing

Lyblac is free to use. The section called the Black Leaves, and the ability to write workings of your own into the Grimoire, are available only with a subscription.

The subscription is called "Lyblac Monthly". It is auto-renewing, lasts one month and costs $3.99 per month in the United States; the price in your own currency is shown in the app before you subscribe and is the price that applies to you.

Payment is charged to your Apple Account or Google Play account at confirmation of purchase. The subscription renews automatically each month, at the same price, unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within the 24 hours before the current period ends.

You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your Apple Account settings or in Google Play under Payments & subscriptions. Removing the app or erasing your book does not cancel it. When you cancel, you keep the subscription features until the end of the period you have paid for, and the free parts of the book remain yours to use.

A further section, the Sixty-Six Seals, is sold separately as a single one-time purchase of US$6.66 or its equivalent in your currency. It is not a subscription and does not renew. It can be reached only from within the Black Leaves, which require the subscription, and it is for adults aged 18 and over.

Refunds are handled by Apple and Google under their own policies. Where the law gives you a right to a refund or to withdraw, nothing here limits it.

We may change the price. If we do, you will be told in advance by the store and, where required, asked to agree before the new price applies.

4. What you may do

We grant you a personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app for your own non-commercial purposes on devices you own or control.

You may not copy, resell or republish the contents of the book; reverse engineer the app except where the law allows; use the app to break the law; or interfere with the service or with other people's use of it.

5. Your content

Your journal entries, your cabinet and the workings you write are yours. They stay on your phone; we do not receive, store, read or review them, and they are not shared with anyone.

6. Nature of the content; no advice

Lyblac presents folklore and spiritual practice for cultural and personal interest. We make no claim that any working will produce any result. The section called the Black Leaves describes historical curses and bindings for education only. It is for adults aged 18 and over, and the app asks for your date of birth each time before opening it; the date is checked on your device and is not stored or sent to us. You agree not to use anything in the app to threaten, frighten or harass any person, or to break any law, and you accept that you alone are responsible if you do. The app does not give medical, psychological, legal or financial advice. The Safety & Disclaimer notice forms part of these terms: please read it.

The pictures in the cabinet are examples for interest and are not a guide to identifying anything you find. Never rely on them for safety.

7. Disclaimer and limit of liability

The app is provided "as is". To the fullest extent the law allows, we exclude all warranties, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for any injury, loss or damage arising from the gathering, handling, burning or consumption of any substance, or from reliance on the content of the app.

To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid for Lyblac in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, or removes rights you hold as a consumer.

8. Ending the agreement

You may stop using the app at any time by removing it. We may stop offering the app or the subscription; if we withdraw the subscription you will keep it to the end of the period you have paid for.

9. Changes

We may update these terms. If a change is significant we will tell you in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use the app after that means you accept the updated terms.

10. Apple App Store

If you obtained the app from the Apple App Store: this agreement is between you and us, not Apple, and Apple is not responsible for the app or its content. Your licence is limited to use on Apple-branded products you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in the App Store Terms of Service. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support. If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price; to the fullest extent the law allows Apple has no other warranty obligation. Apple is not responsible for addressing any claim relating to the app, including product liability, legal or regulatory compliance, consumer protection or intellectual property claims. You confirm that you are not in a country subject to a US Government embargo and are not on any US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of this agreement and may enforce it against you.
